Paul Simavari

Paul Simavari is a senior marine engineer with more than 20 years’ experience delivering electric-hybrid propulsion and power management systems across global commercial and defence sectors. Formerly of BAE Systems and Cummins, he has led multi-disciplinary teams on complex decarbonisation projects, including hydrogen and vessel autonomy solutions.

A Class One Marine Engineer with a Master’s in Renewable Energy and a First-Class Honours degree in Industrial Product Design, Paul is now pursuing a PhD at Newcastle University focused on decarbonising inland waterways through scalable, data-led energy infrastructure – bridging the gap between engineering reality and policy ambition.
