Jotron AS, a Norway-headquartered manufacturer of communication systems for land, sea and air safety, has announced the release of a new classified switch for the connection of its communication devices.

The Phontech 7200 switch is approved according to the IEC 60945 standard for maritime navigation and radio communication equipment and systems and also complies with the DNV GL rules for classification; ships and offshore units and can be installed on all DNV GL classified vessels.

The Phontech 7200 meets the maritime and offshore market application requirements for communication, navigation and general purposes. It has 24 Gigabit RJ-45 ports and 2 SFP module slots. The switch has two redundant power supplies. The switch is 1U 19-inch rack-mountable. It is fully manageable through the web and command line interface. In Jotron’s two-way communication systems this switch is used to connect communication devices. Phontech 7200 is already installed and in use on several vessels.
