Following their successful launch into the marine market at Seawork 2009, CDA Solutions Ltd will be unveiling their new Total Marine Security (TMS) concept at this year’s show.
By integrating CCTV with Access Control onto a single PC-based system, CDA Solutions can now offer security systems for any size of vessel or port at a fraction of the cost of similar separate systems even five years ago, and with greater flexibility than ever before.
Andy Watson of CDA Solutions says that the company has been working for some time towards the integrated approach and that a combination of improved standard PC hardware and new customised software developed in-house has allowed them to pull together these two previously separate technologies. TMS also gives them the ability to integrate virtually whatever hardware the particular project requires.
‘Using standard PC and network hardware means that we can also integrate almost any other system, alarms for example, much more easily, he said. ‘It also allows the customer to securely monitor and control their security system remotely as long as the system itself is online. From controlling a camera to opening a door or vehicle barrier, we can now provide full control from any PC and even a mobile phone.’
The PC-based approach means future support of the systems is much easier, and cheaper, for the customer. Not only does it mean that compatible hardware will always be available, unlike conventional systems that still use bespoke hardware, but much of the maintenance and all of the software upgrades can be carried out without an engineer visit.
‘This allows us to offer what we think is the best warranty in the industry. Full support for the first year is free, and then 10% of the system cost per year to maintain the whole system indefinitely, including hardware replacement, unlimited on-site engineer visits and full remote software upgrades’, added Watson.
