Red Ensign delivers Seacat recruitment drive
UK-based offshore energy support vessel operator, Seacat Services launched an apprenticeship recruitment drive on the last day of Seawork 2014 to attract more young people into the maritime sector.
To help meet their plans for future growth, Seacat Services is recruiting a cohort of 12 apprentice deckhands for its fleet of 21 – 26 metre offshore energy support vessels that work primarily between the East Coast of the UK, Germany, Holland and Denmark.
Andrew Dale, managing director, Red Ensign, said: “For many years I have believed passionately that apprenticeships were the way forward for the merchant shipping industry and I’m delighted that all our hard work is coming to fruition with this collaboration with Seacat. We hope that this is just the first of many groups of young people that we can introduce to this exciting industry.”
Seacat Services is looking for individuals with a passion for the sea and who are keen to start a career in this industry.
Successful candidates will start their Apprenticeship in September at and work towards an intermediate Maritime Apprenticeship delivered through Red Ensign and supported by Apprenticeship specialist HTP Training.
