Wisconsin, USA-based Rohr-Idreco has completed the installation of an RISD350-M, 350mm electric dredger for a North American sand and gravel winning operation.
With the customer in need of a new and efficient deep digging electric dredger, modular manufacturer Rohr-Idreco provided a vessel capable of dredging to depths of 28m with a production capacity in excess of 400tph. The dredger is equipped with a GPS and sonar system which provides the operator with virtually real time information on where material has been dredged and where virgin material still lies through an intricate mapping system.
The customer also requested Rohr-Idreco to install a remote plant monitoring screen enabling plant based personnel to view key operating data from the vessel. Rohr-Idreco provides remote access systems for all its dredgers, allowing its technical support team to remotely troubleshoot and correct issues which may arise onboard the vessel.
The vessel is equipped with an RISD350 high efficiency Rohr-Idreco dredge pump which reduces wear and increases productivity whilst consuming less energy. The Rohr-Idreco team worked closely with the customer to ensure the dredger would meet pumping distance and production requirements at its current and any future production sites. Operators praised the vessel’s user friendliness and the ergonomic layout of the cabin.
