Safe RNLI Decking Solution at seawork
When the RNLI decided to install a new pontoon at its Harwich station, safety was uppermost of its concerns.
Having used ‘Marina Deck’ from seawork exhibitor Fiberglass Grating Ltd before, the RNLI had no hesitation in specifying the pontoon decking again. The durable, non-slip decking gives the safest possible surface for walking on in all sea conditions. Marina Deck is maintenance free, extremely resistant to algae growth, and has a lifespan in excess of 30 years.
The decking panels were easily cut to accommodate the mooring cleats on the pontoon, which was designed and built by K&N Welding of Rochester, Kent UK. Staff at K&N were impressed by how easy Marina Deck was to cut and fit to their new pontoon. The K&N pontoon, designed specifically for sea conditions at the Harwich location, allied to the non-slip characteristics of Marina Deck, has delivered a successful new facility for the RNLI.
Visitors to seawork2004 will be able to examine this versatile product, which is also lightweight, non-magnetic, and resistant to corrosion, fire and impacts, for themselves.
