Dutch dredging giant Royal Boskalis Westminster says reports emanating from the Singapore and Malaysian press mention a breakthrough in discussions between the two countries which could result in the resumption of sand supply from Malaysian waters to Singapore land reclamation projects in the short term. Massive land reclamation works in Singapore, which were suspended in mid-2002 due to controversy over sand winning rights, represent a value of ?317m in the Boskalis order book.

Sales have grown by over 50% this year and profits have doubled since the management team acquired the company in 2000.
