The Ship and Boat Builders’ Association (SBBA) has joined International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA).
The 86-member SBBA takes over from Danboat, which ceased to operate as of September, transferring all assets to SBBA.
Udo Kleinitz, ICOMIA secretary general, said: “We very much look forward to working with the Ship and Boat Builders’ Association in the development of the Danish leisure marine industry by supporting its activities in export, promotion, development and market prioritisation.”
The name Danboat continues as a working group under SBBA; its function being to coordinate the marketing and boating exhibitions in Denmark.
SBBA members include pleasure, fishing and industrial boat builders as well as sailmakers, repair facilities, marina operators, brokers, equipment manufacturers and wholesale and service facilities specialised within industrial vessels and the offshore industry.
ICOMIA’s members include marine industry associations from the majority of industrialised countries.
