seawork Debut for Powerglide 30
New company Lyme Boats Ltd of Axminster in Devon UK will make its first appearance at seawork s floating pontoon this summer showing the first example of a brand new workboat design which will have been completed only weeks before the show. The Powerglide 30 s deep V hull has been designed in the classical American style by veteran Cornwall based marine architect Rod Baker.
Lyme Boats hold the exclusive rights to build and sell the GRP built Powerglide 30, which will be available in two versions.
The Pro-Fish, which will be at seawork , delivers a balance of style and performance tailored to UK coastal waters while the Powerglide Sport uses the same hull with an extended superstructure to provide berthing for four in more leisure orientated use.
The 30ft boat has a draught of 3ft 4in and is powered by a single Caterpillar marine diesel engine, delivering 426bhp for a top speed of over 30 knots.
The Pro-Fish layout offers twin forward facing seats, twin fish boxes and plenty of storage for gear and bait. Below is a full size stand-up head and substantial stowage compartment.
The Powerglide 30 will be a hive of activity at seawork, with Lyme Boat’s co-exhibitor Online Telematics Ltd demonstrating their Koolboks K-9M vessel security and information management system on board. Also, Ocean Safety will use the boat as a venue for daily demonstrations of their new Dacon Rescue Scoop man overboard system.
