Seawork exhibition rescheduled due to coronavirus concerns
Seawork International commercial marine exhibition and conference, along with the Speed@Seawork sea trials event and Marine & Coastal Civil Engineering Expo (M&CCE) are all to be rescheduled until a later date, to be announced in due course.
Andrew Webster, CEO of Seawork organisers Mercator Media said: “As a result of the prevailing global conditions, and the Government’s most recent coronavirus advice, we have been forced to postpone the above events which were due to be held from 9-11 June. We are aware that the Seawork exhibition is a vital business tool in the commercial marine industry and regret that we have had to take this decision.
Here at Mercator Media we are doing all we can to ensure the event can take place in 2020. Our experienced team can react swiftly to developing events to enable us to continue to produce the exhibition when it is possible and prudent to do so.
We have been successfully running Seawork for 22 years and have always worked closely with our valued exhibitors, sponsors, supporters and contractors. We will continue to do so to facilitate their participation in the rescheduled event.
Our aim is to produce the exhibition in a similar format to the planned June event, including keynote speeches, vessel and equipment launches, press calls, conferences, feature days and Awards.
As ever our primary concern is the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and staff and we will, of course, continue to monitor advice and the latest information from the UK Government and the World Health Organisation on the spread and effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
We recognise there will be many questions, particularly in reference to the new dates of the rescheduled event.
These are fast-moving times and we thank you for your patience and understanding during what is an unprecedented situation for us all.
Please bear with us and we will update again by Friday 27 March.”
Maritime Journal, Seawork’s sister publication, while currently evaluating small changes such as temporarily moving to a digital page turner and website-only product, will continue to serve our industry on a ‘business as usual’ basis. Indeed, here at MJ, it is our intention to act as a beacon of continuity for the European commercial marine industry, providing our usual mix of important news, information and opinion for the duration of this challenging chapter.
