The Ship Efficiency Awards 2016 took place in London earlier this month to celebrate organisations and individuals who are committed to driving ship efficiency.

Hosted by Lloyd’s Register and Fathom Maritime Intelligence, at the third annual awards VAF Instruments won the IVY Propulsion Performance Management award.

The Initiative of the Year Award Winner was Flinter Management for its big data collaboration and research for fuel efficiency, while the One to Watch Award was given to Genoil’s Hydroconversion Upgrader (HGO).

WhileWärtsilä Seals and Bearings won the Environmental Technology award category, its sternguard in-water serviceable seal was commended for its innovative solutions which has contributed to reducing the environmental impact of shipping operations.

Stena Lines were awarded the category for the Sustainable Ship Operator of the Year award, with VAF Instrument’s IVY propulsion performance management claiming the Energy Efficiency Solution award.

Voted by the public, the final award, Lloyd’s Register Outstanding Contribution to Ship Efficiency Award, was presented to Astrid Dispert of IMO Secretariat for the GloMEEP Project.

All nominations for each award category were assessed by a strong judging panel who selected the winners are a rigorous process.
