Simrad Multibeam for Fugro
Kongsberg-Simrad has received an order for a second EM 300 deepwater multibeam echosounder from Fugro Survey of Aberdeen. It is being installed on the survey vessel, Fugro Meridian and will complement a similar unit operational aboard Fugro s Geo Prospector .
Evolution in Hydrography is the main symposium theme, which will cover a wide range of contemporary issues. Scheduled topics include AUV’s and survey vessels, case studies, charting, data management, dredging support, multibeam surveying, seafloor mapping, and remote sensing.
The EM 300, says the Norwegian company, is designed for seabed mapping from shorelines to beyond continental rises. It is additionally capable of covering shallower ocean basins at depths in excess of 5,000m, with swath widths also up to 5,000m.
