Marine diesel power specialist Royston has secured a new OEM spare parts contract with Scottish ferry operator, Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac).
The move sees Royston supplying and installing original Mitsubishi, Volvo and Cummins parts and components to support Calmac’s fleet of 15 major vessels, comprising 13 double-ended ferries and two bow-loading ferries.
Under the framework agreement, high quality spare parts will be provided to secure CalMac’s evolving fleet maintenance programme quickly and cost effectively. Royston has completed several engine overhaul and service contracts for CalMac in the last few years, including work on the Loch Class ferries.
The company’s enginei fuel management technology is also utilised on Calmac vessels to help reduce fuel costs and reduce engine emissions.
With facilities in North East England, Nigeria, and Perth, Western Australia, Royston Power Generation Limited specialises in diesel power projects in marine, offshore and industrial markets and has successfully provided diesel engine supply, service and repair support to the global marine and offshore market for more than 40 years.
