A groundbreaking partnership between maritime technology specialists EIVA and Tuco Marine introduces a cutting-edge autonomous system for inspecting subsea assets.

By combining a USV, Tuco Marine’s ProZero, together with EIVA’s ROTV sensor platform and survey software, critical subsea infrastructure can be investigated much more thoroughly

The collaboration merges EIVA’s expertise in ocean sciences with Tuco Marine’s innovative autonomous vessels (USVs). Together, they aim to provide integrated solutions for monitoring subsea infrastructure such as renewable energy cables.

“By combining a USV, like our ProZero, together with EIVA’s ROTV sensor platform and survey software, it’s possible to monitor the conditions of critical subsea infrastructure much more thoroughly and frequently than with conventional setups,” explained Jonas Pedersen, managing director of Tuco Marine.

Combined expertise

The system combines Tuco Marine’s ProZero 8m Naval Intelligence USV with EIVA’s ViperFish ROTV, a sensor platform designed for high-resolution seabed imaging and monitoring subsea assets.

The partners said that integration is key to the safety and efficiency of these autonomous systems.

Both EIVA and Tuco Marine are renowned for their ability to develop tailored, reliable solutions, ensuring seamless operation of the technologies. Their systems are already well-established within maritime and defense industries, with EIVA’s ScanFish and ViperFish being leading technologies in subsea surveys.

The quality of data from this new system will be enhanced by advanced positioning and imaging technologies, supported by the international Covelya Group, which includes sensor providers Sonardyne and Wavefront Systems.
