Teledyne Gavia expands production to meet AUV boom
Teledyne Gavia has announced a major expansion of its Engineering and Production facilities in Kopavogur, Iceland, in response to growing demand for its advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs).
This expansion is aimed at enhancing the production capacity of the low logistics Gavia AUV systems, as well as the larger Osprey and SeaRaptor models, which are increasingly used in carbon capture, subsea exploration and autonomous vessel operations.

Massive expansion
The expansion will see Teledyne Gavia more than double the size of its manufacturing facility and significantly expanded its engineering, manufacturing and support teams.
This growth will enhance operations both at the Icelandic facility and in North Falmouth, Massachusetts, where Teledyne Gavia services the North American market.
Teledyne Gavia’s diversified fleet, which includes the Gavia 1000m, SeaRaptor 6000m and Osprey 2000m AUVs, is equipped with high-capability imaging sensors, making them ideal for deep-sea exploration, carbon capture initiatives and supporting autonomous vessels.
The strategic location in Kopavogur offers easy access for in-water testing and the nearby harbor, reinforcing Teledyne’s commitment to innovation in subsea technology.
