Successful Seawork for Hydrosphere

One of the products on Hydrosphere’s stand which received much interest was a permanent aid to navigation marking solution for offshore wind turbines. On show for the first time at Seawork, it showed customers the products needed to ensure safe navigation for vessels near wind farms.

The exhibit included a 5NM solar powered LED light, night-time ID marking, a NavAid controller, NavAid back-up and an AIS system, all manufactured by Finnish based Sabik.

“Seawork usually works well for us. This year we noticed more visitors and increased interest in our products, said Mr Caskey. “We had a lot of enquiries regarding the wind turbine navigation marking solution. The offshore wind farm market is growing and we are seeing that reflected in the number of navigational aids we’re supplying.”

Among the other products on display was Vega’s VLB-2, one of the newest navigation lights available from Hydrosphere, which provides up to 2NM performance at 0.74T. The VLB-2, a high capacity LED marine light specifically designed for use in high latitude applications, is available with optional GPS synchronisation.

And on the quayside, visitors were also able to see a JET 2500 navigation buoy in situ, supplied to ABP Southampton.

Mr Caskey concludeded: “We attend many shows throughout the year and Seawork is always one of the best. This year was a very good show for us and we look forward to returning in 2014.”
