Dutch tug owners F J M Hubregte van der Berge have taken delivery of the new anchorhandling tug Dutch Pearl. The new tug was built by Scheepswerf Gebr Kooiman of Zwijndrecht and is a further example of the successful 31m shallow draft, twin screw design that has proved popular with several Dutch operators.
Dutch Pearl is powered by Mitsubishi S16R-MPTA diesels generating 3,182bhp at 1,600rpm to give produce a bollard pull of 45.1 tons and a maximum speed of 12 knots.

KTK Panama, a subsidiary of Kompania di Tou Korsou, Curacao has ordered two ASD Tug 2810 tugs from Damen Shipyards. A contract was signed on 26 March by Mr R J Lopez Ramirez, managing director of CPA/CPT, and Mr René H Berkvens chief executive officer of the Damen Shipyards Group. The tugs will be delivered in May and June of this year for use in Panama bearing the names KTK Tribon and KTK Barakuda respectively.
The construction of three new 55 ton bollard pull Voith tractor tugs for the Port of Antwerp is well advanced. Already allocated traditional serial numbers (in lieu of names), No. 30, No. 31 and No. 32, the first vessel, No. 30, is scheduled for completion in the autumn. Hull construction and all major steel work was carried out in the Czech Republic and delivered to the SKB shipyard in Antwerp where the tugs are being fitted out.
