Fischer Panda is bringing the Clayton Power all-in-one onboard power solution to the marine market.
The LPS (lithium power system) II compact system powers both 230 VAC and 12 VDC appliances without the need for additional equipment and can be charged in three ways – solar, grid power or engine alternator.
“What makes this product unique is the level of power and that it’s an all-in-one solution,” said Chris Fower, sales & marketing director at Fischer Panda UK.
“Inside the unit is a Li-ion battery, an inverter, a charger and solar MPPT charger. All-in-one. From a user aspect it’s far easier to install and can be transferred to a new boat rather than hard-wired.”
Already well-established in the automotive sector, the LPS II is suitable for both the leisure and commercial marine industry, providing emissions-free onboard power for smaller boats of up to around 40 foot.
“It powers up to three kilowatts,” continued Fower. “Fifty per cent of the customers we speak to fit something bigger than needed. We speak to people who say they need four kilowatts. In reality they probably need half of that.
“Instead of a portable generator, they could be fitting a zero-emission, compact solution like this.”
Three-way charging
The LPS II is available in four sizes – 1500W, 2000W, 2500W and 3000W – all featuring high energy density LiFePO4 battery cells.
A built-in 400 W MPPT charge controller enables charging directly from solar panels. Alternatively the unit can be recharged using the boat engine alternator or through a 720 W grid power connection.
