Battery hybrid ferry takes second sea trial

A battery energy storage system (BESS) has been tested on a ferry destined for Scotland in a second set of sea trials on the vessel in the Sea of Marmara, Turkey.

The Isle of Islay is the first of four sister vessels being built at the Turkish shipyard of Cemre that will be introduced to the fleet over the next couple of years.
