DLR's new research vessel targets marine innovation

The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) has begun laying the keel for MODULARIS, a new research vessel designed to accelerate maritime technology testing and certification. 

Backed by €36 million in German government funding, the vessel build will create a floating laboratory focused on climate-compatible propulsion, autonomous systems and maritime security technologies.
