FPT leads Venice waterbus hybrid retrofit mission
The waterbuses running along Venice’s iconic waterways are looking at a hybrid future, thanks to an FPT-led mission to overhaul their power systems.
A pilot boat operated by the public transport body AVM’s transport arm Actv is being rolled out as the first step in a modernisation plan for its lagoon fleet, which serves the iconic Venetian canals, ‘a major part of the city’s DNA’, it says.
