Port Houston has announced plans for a new hybrid electric ferry, marking a major step forward for its progress in more sustainable vessel design.

Leading digital shipbuilder Incat Crowther has been selected to design the state-of-the-art 22-metre tour vessel, which will replace the 70-year-old M/V Sam Houston.

Built in partnership with Louisiana-based Breaux Brothers, the hybrid electric ferry will be both designed and constructed in the USA.
