Kongsberg Maritime will supply azimuth thrusters and a combination of electric and hydraulic towing winches for nine new tug designs for Turkish shipbuilder and operator Med Marine, it says.

One of the tugs is Med Marine’s new VoltRA electric tug by Robert Allan, which Med Marine says sets new standards in efficiency and emissions reduction, ‘redefining the future of tug operations’ without giving further details at the time of writing.
