Norwind Gale

Norwind Gale will be delivered to Norwind Offshore, a relatively new ship owner that will offer specialised vessels for the offshore sector.

The vessel is a Vard 4 19 design, with a length of 85 metres and a beam of 19.5 metres. It has a 3D motion-compensated gangway, height adjustable boat landing system and can accommodate 87 people. The vessel is also capable of having batteries installed for propulsion, Vard says.

“We have developed this vessel with focus on design recognition and fuel efficiency to enable sustainable business at sea and wish her and her crew safe sailing on the seven seas,” said senior vice president for Sales Torgeir Haugan, with Vard.

which the company says focuses on on-board logistics, security, comfort and superior operability during construction, operation and maintenance of wind farms.

The hull was built at Vard Braila in Romania and outfitted and finalized at Vard Brattvaag in Norway.
