Ørsted announces second methanol-powered SOV
A second methanol-powered service operation vessel (SOV) has been announced some months after the first was agreed between Ørsted and ESVAGT.
Around 110 e-methanol vessels have been ordered or are in operation, up from 80 vessels at the end of 2022, says Liquid Wind, which originally developed the facility. With new regulations looming, it expects demand for fuels such as e-methanol to increase rapidly.
