Wartsila Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd have signed an agreement for a strategic alliance in the field of two-stroke diesel engines.

Vremac is already established as IHC Holland Merwede's principal supplier of hydraulic cylinders and the closer working relationship following the acquisition is expected to result in more effective product development.

The two companies will share their resources and experience, exploring possibilities in R&D as well as in the efficiency of production and distribution of jointly developed two-stroke diesel engines. Between them, the two companies produce low speed diesel engines ranging in output from 1,120kW to 80,000kW.
