23 RIB deal for Spanish civil protection
Vanguard Marine of the UK has recently supplied 23 Vanguard RIBs to the Galician Local Government in Spain.
Consisting of 9 DR400 RIBs with Yamaha 40 hp tiller steered engines and 14 TX540 RIBs with Yamaha 60 hp engines, the craft will be used as inshore and close to shore rescue boats on the many Galician beaches in North West Spain.
The DR400 RIB is capable of being launched in heavy surf conditions. It is equipped with a bow locker with the remote fuel tank fitted which allows the crew extra deck space when carrying out rescue and recovery work.
The deep V hull TX540 can operate in the heavy Atlantic sea conditions. Capable of taking 10 passengers and a maximum payload of 1185kg, the RIB is fitted with a 100 litre under deck fuel tank giving extra stability and greater range.
