Megawatt milestone for tidal turbine power

Harnessing the reliable and predictable energy of tidal streams, Bristol UK based Rolls-Royce subsidiary Tidal Generation Limited has surpassed the 200 megawatt hours (MWh) mark of electrical power generated and fed into the national grid.

The turbine unit is semi-buoyant and can be easily towed to and from the point of operation.
