A baby davit is born at Seawork
Atlas Carbon Products launched a new baby davit at Seawork 2012 which weighs only 8 kg but can lift loads of up to 125 kg.
The Atlas baby carbon davit is now available with a reach from 900mm to 1,500mm, in a range of heights, and manually operated or fitted with a two speed Harken winch.
The Lymington UK based company manufactures carbon fibre davits for the UK Ministry of Defence, Trinity House and a range of other clients. Standard davits are produced with a range of reaches from 1,200mm to 2,000mm and a safe working load of 500 kg.
Addressing the Seawork launch, Atlas Carbon Products managing director Kit Rogers said, “We often produce customisations of our davits to suit customers’ specific needs but we realised a smaller davit was missing from our standard range, and so the ‘baby’ was born.
