Two new Damen tugs for KOTUG

Netherlands based International maritime service provider, KOTUG International, is putting two new Damen Azimuth Tractor Drive Tugs 2412 into operation at Germany’s port of Hamburg.

The ‘ZP Bulldog’ and ‘ZP Boxer’

The tugs were ordered by Elisabeth Ltd in Malta and are being chartered by the KOTUG Group.

Recently, KOTUG started towage activities in the new German deep sea port Wilhelmshaven and consequently additional tugs were needed at short notice.

Damen’s short delivery time and quality of build were key factors in KOTUG’s decision to choose the strong and compact Azimuth Tractor tugs named ZP Bulldog and ZP Boxer.

Damen Services arranged the transport of the tugs from Vietnam to Rotterdam in The Netherlands, where the tugs were handed over this month in a turnkey operation.

After their arrival, the tugs were painted in the KOTUG colours, equipped and prepared to commence their towage activities in the port of Hamburg. The tugs have a length of 24m, a width of 12m, 5600 bhp and a bollard pull of 70 tonnes.

KOTUG is a fast growing towage company expanding its innovative services to ports and terminals in Europe (Rotterdam, Hamburg, Bremerhaven), West-Africa and Australia.
