Damen opens new Norwegian office
Damen Shipyards recently opened a new office in Stavanger, Norway – an advanced base for its new sales manager, Remko Hottentot.
The opening gave Mr Hottentot the chance to promote Damen’s activities in the offshore industry and its development of a new series of workboats.
Damen’s new series of utility vessels (UVs) include features of the Multi Cat and Shoalbuster designs as well as new market demands. The new range has been developed to support light duty work both inshore and offshore. All designs are flexible to allow for a wide range of tasks including pollution control, fire fighting, ballast water treatment services, survey and research and maintenance jobs in inland waterways and the renewable energies market.
The new UVs, which range from 20m to 60m, have limited drafts to give access to inshore and shallow waters and feature large working decks, spacious accommodations and flexible spaces.
Damen has also secured newbuild orders for a series of six PSVs to be built at its Galati (Romania) and Bergum (The Netherlands) shipyards and three Holland class ocean going patrol vessels designed for patrolling and intervention.
