ISP delivers safety to the Lake District

ISP, which produces more than 170,000 units of life jackets each year, has delivered the lifesaving equipment to boats and ferries operating on Windermere, Ullswater, Coniston and Derwent. Agreements were signed with a number of operators including Windermere Lake Cruises, Ullswater Steamers, Keswick Launch Company and the National Trust (Steam Yacht Gondola).

Geoff Billington, sales director of ISP, told Maritime Journal: “There are naturally more opportunities in the North of England, Scotland and Ireland, as appose to the South, due to the geography of the land (more lakes and lochs). ISP is particularly keen to target Ireland and Scotland following this deal.”

He added: “This deal greatly helps to highlight the service we can provide in the restricted water ferry market. We will be supplying specially designed lifejackets which are easy to handle with extended service. It is the largest single deal we have secured in this niche sector. Our presence in the Lake District will help to boost our reputation and provide a strong platform to drive further growth.”

ISP says that the deal with Ullswater Steamers will lead to the launch of an ISP quayside service station to help with inspection, servicing and maintenance of the lifejackets.
