Danish wind growth

Danish wind turbines hit an output total of 3,987MW last month, nearly 200MW more than the previous record.

Jesper Nørskov Rasmussen at Energinet said that only 800MW were missing in order to cover all of Denmark’s energy needs.

He does not expect that it will take long before the record again is beaten. The fast-growing wind farms with new, more efficient turbines, will mean that the proportion of wind energy to Danish consumers will grow rapidly.

Anholt Offshore Wind Farm will soon contribute a large share of energy to the Danish citizens. The Government has decided that half of all Danish electricity supply from 2020 shall come from wind energy.
