Siem Offshore windfarm contracts
Germanys Siem Offshore Contractors GmbH has contracted out two of its windfarm service vessels for work at two European windfarms.
Swedish survey company, MMT, will use the survey and ROV vessel, IceBeam, which features a Kongsberg EM2040 Dual Head Multibeam and a Sub-Atlantic Mohican ROV, to carry out a pre-lay survey and ROV inspection of the IAG of Germany’s Baltic 2 offshore windfarm.
Fellow Swedish company, Nordic Dive Enterprises (NDE) Offshore and international brokers, Force3 Offshore, will also use Siem’s AHTS vessel, Siem Garnet, to carry out ROV and dive support on the 80 turbine BARD offshore windfarm, ocated around 100km off the island coast of Borkum, Germany.
MMT will use the vessel to identify boulders that interfere with the proposed inter array grid cable routers. The survey includes a high resolution multibeam survey, approximately 50m wide of the cable route. Using the high resolutions multibeam data, a target list will be established and used to be inspected by the ROV.
A spokesperson from MMT said: “MMT is one again please and excited for the continued confidence from Siem. We are also happy to be part of the pre installation phase, as we performed a full geophysical survey for this particular offshore windfarm a couple of years ago.”
