Rooftop air con unit launched at Seawork

Paul Hickinbotham, director, sales and operations, Dometic Marine, told Maritime Journal: “We took a number of international orders for the DuraSea Rooftop at Seawork, including an order for six units from a tug boat customer in the central European market.”

Mr Hickinbotham added: “Fischer Panda, the dealer that represented Dometic Marine at Seawork, also reported a lot of interest in the DuraSea Rooftop from Hovercraft manufacturers, and we are in discussion with a customer about installing the unit on windfarm catamarans.”

Built to endure harsh environments, the system is a combined cooling and heating solution suitable for both commerical and leisure marine applications. Designed for horizontal mounting on the deck or wheelhouse roof, the DuraSea features specially coated corrosion resistant components which cool and purifies the air for the helm area or cabin below.

The system’s corrosion resistant and heavy duty triple coils mean high efficiency air-to-air cooling of 3.5kW. The interior control panel allows air distribution and fan speed adjustment, as well as UV air purification with nano mesh filtration.

The company also launched its new Vectronic electronic equipment cooling unit at this year’s Seawork, which has been designed to maintain ideal temperatures in engine rooms and machine spaces to prevent critical components from over heating.
