Danish Yachts generates interest
This year’s Seawork Exhibition proved successful for Danish Yachts with the launch of its new range of Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) workboats increasing the shipyard’s order book.
Patrik von Sydow, CEO, Danish Yachts, said: “It was a productive week at Seawork and we were delighted that our SWATH windfarm support vessel attracted so much interest.”
With two vessels already delivered this year, the first to the UK and the second to Germany, Danish Yachts is moving into a very busy period. Two further vessels are already under construction and are scheduled for delivery later this year.
“All our vessels share one common thread – performance. We are delighted that the shipyard is set for further success in 2013 and looking forward into the future, moving into a busy and productive period,” Mr von Sydow added.
Designed to carry personnel to offshore windfarms and between wind towers, the company’s new 25m SWATH operates in two modes – catamaran for fast transfer and SWATH or displacement mode for safe transfer onto the towers in a seaway.
In addition, the vessel features a unique ballasting systems and a customised high friction forward fendering system for stable connection, which includes sensor pressure monitoring.
