Positive response for French boatbuilder
The French boatbuilder ACCF exhibited for the first time at Seawork this year with a vessel on the floating pontoons.
Ronan Touly, ACCF, said: “It’s the first time that we’ve been to Seawork and its been successful. The vessel has attracted great interest and we anticipate signing contracts soon after our return to the yard.”
The shipyard has more recently turned its hand towards building passenger vessels and workboats based on a Pantocarene design.
The 11.5m GRP fast personnel ferry on display at Seawork this year is powered by two outboard 300HP motors, giving a speed of up to 35 knots. It can carry 12 passengers.
Brittany based ACCF is well known for quality refits and repair jobs on commercial vessels up to the size of 60m. But for many years it only specialised in building vessels for the leisure marine market.
The company started out in 1996 having taken over the former Cariou Shipyards which started out as a dinghy builder way back in 1947.
