Humber delegation visits Denmark
A delegation of Humber UK companies working in the offshore wind supply chain visited Denmark this month on a fact finding, networking trade mission.
Organised by Team Humber Marine Alliance (THMA) and Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the delegates toured the main production facilities of Siemens’ Wind Power in Brande.
The aim is to build on relationships and learn more about logistics, offshore wind support vessels and even survival clothing.
Mark O’Reilly, director and chairman, THMA, said: “We will hear from Siemens about its Brande offshore wind facilities and how its supply chains work, and it is also a great opportunity to network with other companies within the Danish and Norwegian offshore wind industry.”
“This increasingly strong relationship between Danish, German, Norwegian and British companies is something that we have been helping to develop for the last few years,” he added.
Delegates also visited ‘energy metropolis’, Esbjerg, including its offshore wind harbour facilities, and hear from Blue Water Shipping about its Blue Water Danbrit joint venture.
Companies and organisation which made the trip include Blue Water Danbrit, Carlbom Shipping, Collett Marine, Dalby Offshore, DFDS Seaways, Green Marine Solutions and Wind Power Performance and Wind Power Support, among others.
