Alnmaritec delivery
Alnmaritec has delivered the second of the new Wave Captain class of windfarm support vessels being built for Rix Shipping.
The latest vessel, Rix Tiger, will join sister vessel, Rix Panther, in serving the offshore wind industry.
“Rix has worked closely with Alnmaritec to create the Tiger and we are really pleased with the results, said James Doyle, managing director of Rix Shipping.
“Between the two companies we have come up with a range of great innovations that have produced a top class vessel ready to work in the windfarm sector. Alnmaritec finished the boat on time and to specification and we are delighted to have taken delivery of what is our third wind farm work vessel.”
Rix Tiger features the latest high efficiency hull form developed by Alnmaritec, powered by twin Cummins QSK19 800 bhp diesel engines, while ZF 2000V gearboxes drive twin five blade propellers. The vessel has the ability to reach speeds of up to 24 knots and features a resiliently mounted wheelhouse which minimises noise and vibration. It also features a large cargo area forward and two single berth crew cabins below decks.
