Denmark tenders
The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) is to tender six offshore wind sites for 450MW wind power turbines.
A total of 50 MW will be reserved for the establishment of offshore test and demonstration projects with potential for development to facilitate cheaper offshore wind turbine expansion in the future.
The six areas designated for the purpose are Bornholm, Smålandsfarvandet, Sejerø Bugt, Sæby, North Sea (south) and North Sea (north).
Offshore wind farms of up to 200 MW must be located at least four kilometres away from the coast. The offshore wind turbines must be ready for production by 2020 at the latest.
On Tuesday 29 October 2013, the DEA will host an information meeting on local citizens’ options to purchase wind turbine shares.
