Offshore wind gets infrastructure backing
The UK government has announced two major offshore renewable energy projects have been earmarked to receive a share of the £40bn government infrastructure guarantee scheme.
Able Marine Energy Park, a port facility to support the manufacture, assembly and installation of offshore renewable technologies at Humberside and Mainstream Renewable Power’s Neart na Gaoithe offshore windfarm in the Firth of Forth have both been named as pre-qualified projects in the scheme.
The trade association, RenewableUK, says it’s a step forward in helping to give investors confidence in the projects as they move forward.
