Seaward Nelson 40 pilot boat at Seawork 2014

The Spanish Port of La Coruña has chosen the UKs Seaward Marine Ltd to build its new Nelson 40’ pilot boat which will be on display at Seawork 2014.

A typical Seaward vessel shows off its rugged and efficient lines

After its stint at Seawork, the boat will leave to work alongside the port’s existing, much older 40 foot Nelson.

Mike Burnham, managing director, Seaward, said: “The pilots at La Coruña have allowed us the privilege of borrowing their new boat for Seawork 2014 before delivery to Spain. It will enable us to show this rugged and purposeful product to other users before she enters service. We are grateful for the generosity of the pilots in making this happen.”

The Seaward Nelson 40 offers the superb proven seaworthiness and ultimate handling of the original and unique semi displacement form and it’s built to the exacting structural standards of Lloyds.

This is combined with modern build experience and practice from a cost effective environment at Seaward.

Similar proven Seaward Nelson products, suiting different environments, are offered between 35 and 42 feet.
