The company has been nominated for the Ground Investigation Specialist of the Year award, and has two nominations for the Technical Excellence award – one for its powerful T120 pile-top drill and the other for its drilling activity in the Costa Concordia salvage operation.

“This is a record number of shortlisted nominations for us,” said Tony Hodgson, global business development manager, Fugro Renewable Services.

“Recognition of our geotechnical and geophysical expertise and successful execution of an extensive range of UK and international projects, both on land and in the marine environment, have helped us towards the nomination for Ground Investigation Specialist of the Year,” he added.

Fugro’s innovative WaveWalker 1 walking jack-up platform has also been nominated in the Product and Equipment Innovation category. The company is also aiming for success in the International Product of the Year category with its CH2M Hill project.

The company recently invested more than £1m in the extension of its soils laboratory in Wallingford, UK, which is says supported its submission.

The winners of the awards will be announced on 14 May at a ceremony in London.
