Furuno prepares for SMM 2014
Furuno Electric is preparing for this year’s SMM exhibition, where it will unveil its new bridge system, INS Voyager.
The new system features multifunction workstations with seamless display of radar/chart radar, ECDIS, conning and alert management system data. It has been designed with intuitive user interface and in accordance with the most up-to-date safety and navigation standards.
Furuno will also present its solid state radar FAR-3000 series, which generates clear radar echo images of targets, allowing users to obtain a clear picture of what’s around the vessels, including weak targets from smaller crafts.
The FMD-3200/3300 is Furuno’s latest ECDIS with a graphic user interface that delivers a task-based operation scheme to give the operator direct access to necessary operational procedure.
Also on show will be Furuno’s training scheme, automatic chart update systems ‘Gate-1’, ice/oil detection radar system, VDR, Satellite speed log, navigational sounder and GPS navigator.
The new VDR, Satellite speed log, navigational sounder and GPS navigator complies with the revised IMO performance standards of VDR MSC.333 (90), which is to be applied to the equipment installed on or after 1 July 2014.
