Quickening up the bunkering process
Mampaey Offshore Industries has delivered a more cost effective way for the VT Group to deliver fuel oil to their client’s vessels at lower cost whilst enhancing safety.
The operator had identified the mooring process as a bottleneck in operations as tradition methods were slow and time-consuming, often the controlling factor in the departure of ships keen to get underway.
Mampaey said that the Docklock auto-mooring system satisfies a growing need for a faster and safer means of mooring bunkering tankers alongside other vessels whilst intelligently adapting to complex dynamic events.
It has dual mooring arms bow and stern with connection pads that firmly and reliably attach to any hull, flat or undulating, cleanly painted or corroded. These pads can ‘walk’ along the hull to accommodate changes in levels whilst resisting fore and aft motions.
