Integrated bridge systems at SMM

The first is a one man bridge system that has three 46-inch displays for use on coastal patrol vessels and offshore workboats, combining radar, ECDIS, conning, alarm monitoring and DP data.

Alphatron’s second bridge system is a derivative of the first but is targeted at larger vessels and the third is a tugboat variant.

“Bridge operations is a key area that we have observed over the last several years where we have seen an immediate application for our joint synergies. Both companies have constantly been pioneering new ways of working, gradually harmonising control and advancing navigation technology. But this unique combination of expertise truly allows a one-stop-shop, flexible concept for navigation, communication, automation and complete ship’s bridges,” said an Alphatron spokesperson.

Also on display at SMM will be Alphatron’s multi-function display (MFD) as 19 to 26 inch standalone units. The MFD operating system can simply be used as a basic unit for radar, ECDIS or conning, but can also be used as an upgraded system.

Alphatron’s new VDR, Global Xpress unit and the new Alphaline MF range of instruments provide a clear overview on the bridge and enable straightforward operation via touch, forming the the base of a full range of new navigation and communication products to be launched in the coming four years.
