Imtech Marine partners Groen

The first newbuild offshore support vessel for ship owner Groen; ‘7-Oceans’, was recently delivered at Damen Maaskant Shipyards in Stellendam (NED). Imtech Marine Netherlands has provided all navigation and communication equipment, under their re-introduced Radio Holland brand.

'7 Oceans' is one of three OSVs that Groen will take delivery of this year

Imtech Marine Netherlands has taken care of the maintenance of the navigation and communication equipment of the Groen fleet for many years now, via a shore based maintenance contract. Groen is specialised in security, support and service activities mainly for the offshore oil and gas industry. The company operates worldwide and will bring three new offshore support vessels into service this year.

“Good navigation and communication equipment is essential for these support and survey ships”, said Imtech Marine’s sales manager Wim Telman. “Especially because these ships also sail in the A4 area, and therefore they must be ready to be operational worldwide at all times. We work with renowned brands such as Furuno and Sailor and have the expertise, because of our many years of experience in the maritime industry, to tune the systems exactly to the operational requirements. Next to the navigation package (e.g. ECDIS and Radar) we take care of the infrastructure on board with internal communication facilities and VSAT with optimal up-times and download speeds.”

Imtech Marine have re-introduced the name Radio Holland as ‘solution brand’ for Service and Nav/Com solutions at SMM 2014. Wim Telman added: “We learned that Radio Holland still is a trusted, strong name in the shipping industry, valued by our relations. That’s why we decided to bring the name back for Service and Nav/Com. Our trading name will remain Imtech Marine, but the trusted Radio Holland name is back and we are happy with that.”
