EU funding for carbon fibre vessel range
Danish boatbuilder, Tuco Marine Group, has been chosen as one of the few Danish companies to be supported by the EUs Horizon 2020 programme for SMEs.
Tuco’s new series of ProZero carbon fibre vessels consists of 16 boat models designed especially for the most critical and tough working conditions at sea. The series is innovative because it minimises the weight of vessels by 30% for search and rescue, military and police and workboat operations.
The series has been awarded funding under the topic Small Business Innovation Research for Transport.
Competition to get funding from Horizon 2020 is tough and the application process is a long journey for companies, but clearly it has been worthwhile for Tuco.
Christina Dalsgaard, manager of operations, Tuco, said: “It was crucial for us to show all the potential in the project, and that we have a well-designed plan for the coming years of development.”
