P&O Maritime buys into Repasa
P&O Maritime has bought a majority stake in Spain’s Remolcadores de Puerto y Altura SA (Repasa)
P&O Maritime are part of the huge DP World port operating company based in Dubai and the deal, the value of which has not been disclosed, will create a new JV under the P&O Maritime brand. The venture will expand their activities to include the Mediterranean and West Africa, enhancing its capabilities in the LNG market.
In Repasa, P&O Maritime are buying into a family owned business with an impressive and young fleet of six anchor handling tugs: Red Fox, Red Dolphin, Red Wolf, Red Husky, Red Cougar and Red Panther, all built in Spain and Turkey between 2005 and 2010 and the Turkish built ASDs Remo and Rómulo built in Turkey in 2008. The ‘Red’ series of tugs are familiar sights in European waters engaged in towage and anchor handling activity for the oil and gas and offshore renewables industries.
