Hydrosphere distribution changes

After working with Carmanah for more than 16 years and with sales of nearly 14,000 lights, Hydrosphere’s distributor agreement with the firm has been terminated.

Hydrosphere delivered 174 Carmanah 601 and M650 solar powered marine navigation lights to the UK's Greater Gabbard windfarm in 2012

Although this means that Hydrosphere will no longer be offering Carmanah lights, it wants to reassure customers that it will continue to support all previous purchases.

Hydrosphere remains the UK and Ireland distributor for leading light manufacturer Vega Industries Ltd which designs and manufactures a complete range of LED navigation lights, as well as PEL high precision sector lights and LED lighthouse and range lights up to 30NM.

The company said that the Vega VLB-1 is a suitable alternative to the Carmanah M550, the VLB-2 to the M650 and the VLB-67 to either the M702 or M800.

Hydrosphere said it will continue to strive to offer unsurpassed service and stock availability aiming to despatch all products within 24 hours of receipt of order. Its in-house workshop in Hampshire and team of dedicated engineers enables it to offer a full service and maintenance service and to design and build bespoke products if required.

Vega is an Industrial Member of the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) and Hydrosphere is a Commercial Industrial Member of the UK Harbour Masters Association (UKHMA) and an Associate Member of the British Ports Authority (BPA).
